One who has a Why to Live for,
can bear almost any How.
To seriously look towards the future we have set out clear goals with a good and solid "Why". How we set out to achieve our outlined goals, is to sustain and maintain a platform on the West Coast for surfing and a culture around the surfing unique to the West Coast. This platform for surfing will serve as the base for anyone living on the West Coast that wants to surf and ride waves of any kind but simply do not have the money or the means. Saldanha is made up of a Social Welfare majority, this means no surfing as a sport if no one can afford it or if none of the schools prioritize surfing.
Extreme Abilities is an article 18a non profit organization and our function is to raise funds and rally resources to then ascertain and distribute as needed for the cultivation of Weskus Surfing and for those who face the financial barriers created by SASSA and BEE. We need more schools in the area to get involved with the long term goal of having Surf Life Saving Club on the West Coast. We would love to facilitate other programs like Nippers and Grom Games, but we need more local people to get involved. Parents, Siblings and Friends, bring your kids to learn how to Swim and how to Surf so that we can have our own Weskus Life Savers in the near future.
How you can help us sustain this platform.
You can either sponsor Extreme Abilities with a cash donation towards our surf program or you can get involved on a personal level and give your time on the regular to lend us your skills on the beach or in the water. If you run a business within the Saldanhabay Municipal area, you can become a title sponsor to one of our annual surfing competitions in Paternoster and gain a marketing niche on the West Coast.
To further develop surfing,
we have a short
Needslist:
- We have no public transport, if we had a surf bus to move more people between surf spots we can have more people surfing and grow the sport faster. Sponsor a bus for us.
- The more we can host focused events and clinics to boost surfing in the minds of the youth, the more aware people will become of the untapped surfing potential of the West Coast. Sponsor an event Day for us.
- None of the public surf spots on the West Coast have any infrastructure. Its extremely difficult to start a surf club without any infrastructure. No tar roads or car parks, no bathrooms and outside showers, and no surf or coffee shops with webcams makes any surf mission op die Weskus an adventure into the wilderness, to say the least. Sponsor us a toilet, or two.
- Monkey see, monkey Do. This is a powerful effect and in the digital age we make full use of camera and drone technology to film and document our missions for post surf studying and to show the family and friends how big that wave was. Our surf video platform is a great incentive for long term participation, to have a Before and After as a testimony of progress is priceless. Sponsor us a Drone and Surf Camera.
video series:
As part of the commitment that Extreme Abilities has set towards Surfing, we have embarked on a documenting endeavor to film all the various wave breaks that can be surfed available on the West Coast Peninsula and Saldanhabay Municipal area. Just because you do not hear the tree fall in forest does not mean there are no spitting barrels to be seen op die Weskus.
